Spend a couple of hours in town listening to Classical Music? Who does that?
Oswestry Recorded Music Society has been a part of the scene in Oswestry for 67 years. So there must be something to it! Normally we meet once a fortnight through the autumn and winter at Hope Church, on a Thursday between 2 and 4 pm. Building work at Hope Church has made us relocate to 1st floor, (There is a lift), Cabin Lane church SY11 2LQ. Recordings – both from CD or video, are presented by Members, who will have prepared an introduction so that the audience understanding of the works is enhanced. We have a break for a cuppa at half time, so we catch up on things un-musical as well. We take care to present good quality recordings on our good quality equipment!
If you would like a couple of hours relaxation in good company come and give us a try. Our first meeting this year will be on 17 October, in the foyer of the Church. The title of the presentation will be “Music From Scandinavia” with its gorgeous melodies and harmonies.
Our subs are £40 a year, but we won’t chase you until you really like us. Joining doesn’t mean you have to prepare a presentation, but if you have particular favourites, we do have member’s choice afternoons.
