Community cohesion is now more important than ever. OswestryConnects aims to create a cohesive, collaborative community presence online – a dynamic interactive, accessible website for those living, working, organising, delivering and contributing to the lifeblood of Oswestry and its environs.
OswestryConnects is a local website that connects individuals and groups active in the local community. For anyone looking to see what makes the Oswestry area tick and to access local services, this is your starting place. This website links to websites of many volunteering and charitable organisations in and around Oswestry. Organisations without a website are encouraged to have their own web pages within the site at a very low cost.
We are people powered
The website is supported by Oswestry Community Enterprise, a local Not-for-Profit Community Benefit Society, which provided the initial funding. The collaborators are all active members of clubs, groups, charities or community organisations in the Oswestry and borders area. These are the people who power this website.
OswestryConnects is overseen by a small group representing active users of the site and is independent of any special interest, be it political, business, religious or otherwise.
How this site is financed
OswestryConnects is financed by modest banner advertising and hosting fees, hosted web page membership contributions, and donations from supporters and local businesses. The design of the site was financed by Oswestry Community Enterprise Limited.
